Big Piney River Clean-Up!

After months of planning, the Big Piney River Clean-Up finally took place! With 68 volunteers, 35 sponsors and 1,565.5 pounds of trash picked up, successful doesn't begin to describe this event! We set up at Boiling Springs Resort in Licking as our base. Canoes and volunteers were shuttled to and from there covering 14.5 miles of river floating from 3 different accesses. Volunteers of all ages and from 20 different cities participated and had a great time! After the clean-up, lunch was served thanks to our sponosors, door prizes were given to nearly all the volunteers and the Licking Girl Scouts helped sort the trash and learned the importance of the 3 R's in the process. It turned out to be a great day to be on the river and do some good in the process.
